Thomas Sharp was a mercer and a draper in Portsmouth. John Jervis was an Admiral in the Royal Navy, known as "Old Jarvie" by his crews. Token commemorates the Battle of Cape St. Vincent, where though outnumbered, he achieved a legendary victory.
