Obv: Bust of Prince of Wales, GEORGIVS . P . S . S . C . D . 1799 around. Rev: Cruciform shields, BR . L . PR . E . REG . XC . PR . ET . SEN . COR . DUX. (around). Edge: Plain.
NGC MS67. Silver. Half-penny (Eighteen-pence). William Fullarton restrike. Struck by W.J. Taylor from the Milton dies in silver. 8.63g. Very rare. Top grade. Mostly frosty white with some blue highlights. Proof-like fields. Tiny cud below bust. Gem.
Allan Davisson recently told me, "What appears be a cud on the Fullarton restrikes was actually a response to the accusation that these were usurping the right to coin currency so the dies were supposed to be defaced. This small defacement shows up on other restrike dies as well."
