Obv: Bust of Admiral Howe, ADML EARL HOWE. (around) Rev: A ship sailing left, GLORIOUS 1ST OF JUNE 1794 around, FARTHING in exergue. Edge: Plain.
Uncirculated and Choice. Well struck and just slightly off center.
Probably a specious token struck for collectors celebrating the popularity of Lord Earl Howe. He used an ingenious new system of signaling other ships at sea, which enabled him to sail his fleet past the French ships on the ‘Glorious first of June’.
