Obv: Interior of a Hatter’s shop, three men to left engaged in operation known as ‘Working’, man on right in background is a man ‘Blocking’, and the man in the foreground is holding up a finished hat, SALTER’S 47 above, CHARING CROSS LONDON in exergue. Rev: Front of a shop, cocked hat above door, CHEAPEST HAT WAREHOUSE IN THE WORLD around. Edge: Plain. 

Uncirculated with some red on reverse (lights in the windows). Tiny spot on obverse legend on last S of SALTER’S.  Well struck. 

Salter & Company owned a Hat making shop on Charing Cross road at the time of the tokens manufacture. Hat making at this time made use of the fur of rabbits, moles, wool, and beavers.
