Originally built as an Italian Opera House in 1705, the theatre saw little success until it was burnt down in 1789. A year later, The King’s Theatre started construction. Of note, Mozart’s music was first introduced to England from its stage in 1806. Sadly, the theatre on our token burnt to the ground in 1867.
