Showing the Grey Friars gate, one of gates in the old defensive walls of Coventry, built in the 14th century. The Grey Friars themselves were known for their theatrical performances of Old and New Testament stories, performed in forty-two acts. Their sets were built on wheeled platforms that they would roll around to different parts of Coventry for performances.
