Alnwick Castle still stands today and is open to the public during the summer. It has regained its fame lately as the set of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movie, as well as the Christmas specials of Downton Abbey. Dating back to the fourteenth century, it serves as the seat of the Duke of Northumberland. It was also the home of ‘Hotspur’, or Harry Percy, made famous by William Shakespeare. Quidditch anyone?
