Constructed in 1411 originally, but partially destroyed by the Great Fire of 1666, all that remains of the original structure is the crypt. The fire destroyed the roof which was quickly rebuilt in 1669. The air-raids of WWII also did great damage to the building. Recent archeological discoveries reveal it was also the site of the ancient London Roman Amphitheatre. A structure and site full of rich London history.
