Good Very Fine. Scare. Counterfeit issue.
One of the more popular tokens in the whole series, this commemorates the legend of Lady Godiva riding nude through the streets of Coventry. Leofric, Earl of Mercia, was pressed by his wife to lower taxes on the poor of Coventry. He agreed on the condition that she would ride naked through the streets of the town, calling her bluff. According to legend, she did just that, clothed only in her long hair.
