Obv: View of church, ST. STEPHEN’S WALBROOK BT around, JACOBS 1676 in exergue. Rev: Cypher P S Co., DEDICATED TO COLLECTORS OF MEDALS & COINS around. Edge: Plain.

Uncirculated. Choice Red & brown. Mostly red. Reverse has fully struck cypher, which is often soft.

The original structure dates back to the 11th century but was destroyed by the Great Fire of 1666. Rebuilt by Wren, this church is thought to have been the inspiration for St. Paul’s cathedral. Walbrook was the name of the fresh-water stream used by the Romans that would flow to the Thames. It still flows underground to this day, although Walbrook is now a street.
