Obv: View of building, OLD CROSS ERECTED 1702. (around). Rev: Shield of arms, P. KEMPSON MAKER OF BUTTONS MEDALS & C. BIRMINGHAM in three curved lines. Edge: Plain.
Good Very Fine. Some edge bumps.
Similar to the old market cross that James Conder used on his halfpenny token, the Suffolk Ipswich D&H 35, this medalet by Kempson shows the old market cross in Birmingham that was built in 1702. It was sold in 1784 and torn down soon after.
